The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Me and a couple buddies are trying to plan a trip to Burt & Mullet in the next 2-3 weeks for 3-4 days. Does anyone know what the water temps are right now just trying to time it right and did not know if it was cooler than normal for this time of year. Also we were thinking about getting a group of guys together for this big smallmouth bonanza and maybe add a little competition to the weekend. So who is comming with us??

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Sounds like it should be on fire up there if thats the temp. Waiting till late October might not be ideal then. Dan are you up there now? If so how is the bite?
FISH HARD!!!

djkimmel

Pouring rain all day. I only got to fish about an hour due to other things that needed to be done before I got up here. No bites. My friend only had 1 fish yesterday in similar conditions. I'll have a better idea tomorrow as I will be fortunate to fish all day... probably in the rain again ;D
