Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just needed someplace to air my frustrations with people selling boats. I just spent the day looking at a skeeter for sale I found on craigslist, by day I mean I drove 2 1/2 hrs each way to look at it, plus time there and not to mention gas $$$.

This guy had the boat listed as being in "excellent condition" I spoke to him on the phone before going to look at it and he mentioned that the seats had a "couple" bad spots spots where the sun had gotten to them.

Well I go look at the boat and it looks like it sat out all winter with no cover. Last falls leaves were still in it, moss growing on the carpet and half the wiring harness was pulled from under the dash. The sun had faded the dash so much you couldn't read the markings to know which switch was what. The entire top deck fiberglass was severely sun faded.

.... And then I crawled under it and there was an 18" long gash about 1/2 to 3/4"'s wide in the hull near the pad, not a scratch in the gel, I was looking at bare fiberglass! It was "puckered" in this area where you could see the glass matt must have still been wet when it froze last winter.

I guess I will have to be more specific with my questions when calling about boats, but I assumed that someone listing a boat in "excellent condition" would be selling a boat that was at least in fair condition, at least seaworthy!!

Well this sets a record for my longest post, wish it was about something else, but this got me pretty wound up and needed an outlet. thanks for listening

Make sure you get lots of good pics before you go look at a boat.  I bought my last 2 boats "unseen" - just pics.  Of course, they were 1 year old demo's, but I still demanded good pics of just about every part of the boat.  Some guys did not want to send that may pics or go to the trouble of taking more pics.  Those that did made the sale.

A picture is worth a thousand words.  One of the guys from my club bought a sweet Bass Cat on pictures alone.  He didn't even pick it up.  His friend went to get it for him.  Lucky or what?!?!?
