I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Shrink Wrap for winter

Just wondered, from the people who store their boat outside for the winter, if they have had it shrink wraped. How much did it cost? Was it worth it? Just looking for opinions...

I have the tools to do the job. You can buy a roll of white wrap for around $180.00. There is enough material to do 7 boats (20') in one roll. But you do need wood and strap for most jobs. (not bass boats)

I store my boat outside using an Auora cover. The boat is fine in the Spring. I do place a box fan in side the boat and leave all the compartment doors open slightly. The fan will keep critters out and keeps the boat fairly dry with no mold smell in the Spring.
I dont put my boat away till Erie is iced up, so some years I dont winterize at all.

I just have a $30 tarp, I buy a new one every year.  I also prop my compartments open, if they have any moisture on them they will freeze shut. When I finally do winterize, I remove everything I can.  My boat is really only away for 2-3 months.  Shrink wrap is too expensive and you can't remove it.  I like to be able to get out when we have to 45 degree december days.

I have stored my boat outside for the past 3 winters. I have a Lund deep V, and the shrink wrap has worked out great, highly recommend it. There is a guy that lives about a mile from me, that wraps it for like $70, if your near Westland, I'll be happy to pass on his # to you.
