Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

35 deg air temp, ice finally off the river.  After a rough week of quizzes & tests for radiology, I needed a little time off!

The dinner bell rung & here the fishy's a cometh...

Lure:  New Rapala Shallow Rap
Rod/Reel:  6'9" MH Carrot Stix/Team Daiwa Sol(10 lb P-line CXX)

Lure:  Sworming Hornet 1/2 oz head w/ 3" paddle tail
Rod/Reel:  Falcon Cara T7 6'10" MH Finesse Jig split grip rod/Shimano Calcutta 51 (20 lb/6 dia Sufix Braid)

HUH???  Big bluegill chomps on a 3/4 oz SK Sexy Shad w/ 3/0 short shank treble hooks, this bluegill ACTUALLY bit the lure!!!:

HUH PART DEUX:  A big crappie on a 1/2 SK Red Eye Shad chrome/black, guess the crappie thought on chomping on the lure; but didn't move fast enough.  I thought it was a small bass when I hooked it & was very surprised what was on the other end:

Thank you for viewing...now back to our regularly scheduled program....  ;D :D

I think I remember doing something like that.  Waaay too long ago though.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

That looks great! As I sit here watching it snow... >:(
Where in Indiana are you? I heard that Summit Lake might be open down near Muncie.
I have a Calcutta 50 and I have not seen anybody else with one that size. I like it other than the retrieve feels like 6"/turn. What do you use yours for mainly?

Live NW Indiana, just a few minutes from Michigan.

I bought the Calcutta 51 a few years ago, I wanted a small round baitcast reel & the 51 was just that.  I use it for cranks & jigs/worms.  I've thought of selling it cuz it's such a slow gear ratio, but it sure is fun to use when I get it out in the water.  I had a 7 lb bass using that reel w/ a top water lure last summer, got the bass close to me & it popped off.  Fun fight w/ that little reel though.

I switched out the stock small handle on the 51 w/ a longer handle from a Shimano Cardiff 101.  It makes cranking much easier w/ the longer handle.
