Headed out to the Detroit River for some fishing with Chris (Bender) on Monday.  Hit some spots in the Detroit River with no luck, so we decided to head out into Erie. Neither one of us had every been out there so we just drove around until we say something on the graph that looked promising then we would drift around it. We had pretty good sucess doing this and ended the day with probably 15 to 16 pounds for 5 fish between the two of us. My Largest was 4 - 4.5 Smallie, My 2nd largest fish of the day was a nice 3.5 to 4 pound Largemouth in Erie no less. Also caught a nice Walleye, and my first ever Muskie, it still counts if it was only 12 inches right? Had a great day, that was up until I decide to pull out my pop'r to try for the fish that was chasing bait on the surface and buried it into my finger. :o :o That was a sign it was time to go home! This is 2 holiday weekends and to trips to the doctors, I dont think my wife is going to let me fish Holidays anymore!  Some Pics.....

could the doctor save the hook.  them things are expensive.   :D

Bender

I cut the split ring carefully to save the lure, not sure about the hook itself. That thing was buried in there at a bad angle. The Sheriff at the launch said they could get it out, but people don't usually like their method.  ??? :-X
Had a great time and it as a super day for our first trip on the big water. Only thing I forgot was the seats, those might have come in handy when the 80' yachts drove by. If I went out there a lot I might even consider putting seat belts on them!  :D
The river itself was pretty slow though, and we only caught some small fish in there.
