I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I spent the winter remodeling the upstairs bedrooms and I have to get rid of my Bass Masters and In-Fishermens magazines. I have most of them from 1980 when I srarted this game. My kids said they didn't want them. If anyone wants them they would have to pick them up, I can't imagine how much shipping would cost.

Last I knew, he's by Wixom Lake (...or a campground somewhere)

I'd like to have the Bassmaster mags if you still have 'em  I live on Sanford and can pick them up but I'll be in the Keys until the 19th (of March)

rustydog

Foulmouth, They are yours just give me a pm and I'll give you a phone # and address. The 19th give me time to get them around.

I have issues of Bassmaster back to the 80's.  I can't believe that you are just giving those away.  Do you know how much valuable info you are giving away to others???  You are either generous or............well let's not go there because the guy who gets those and it looks like fowlmouth, will be "spanking" you on the next tournament on Wixom using one of the techniques that he learned in one of those back issues.  Are you getting where I am going with this???  If my wife ever got rid of mine or asked me to get rid of my back issues..............well that could be grounds for divorce.  I wonder how that would stand up in court.  I would hope that the judge is a bassfisherman.

Can't blame this one on the boss. She keeps asking me if I'm sure but I was saving them for the boys and they both said no. I know what we went through when my brother died with trying to decide what to do with things that he thought were important to him. You can't save everything. Better someone else than the landfill. Not easy but necessary.

Skulley

rustydog, I like your thinking here.  I don't want my old issues to end up in the landfill either.  Since you put it that way, I guess I owe you an apology.  My lovely bride is the same as yours.  She would ask me if I was sure also.  If I had to get rid of them and my kids didn't want them, I would offer them up.  Better to someone who could use them rather than abuse them.

Let me tell you why I am saving mine.  I plan to take all the covers from all of them and use them as a wall covering decoration in my next house.  My "MAN ROOM" in my current home is done in a bassfishing theme.  My home is currently up for sale.  If we sell in this real tough market and we then buy a new home, then I will have to decorate my new "MAN ROOM".  And since it too will be a bassfishing theme, the magazine covers from all those years of saving Bassmaster Magazines will be fulfilled.  After I tear all the covers off them for my wall covering.  I will go through each and everyone and save certain articles.  The "Destinations for Bass" articles will be saved as I am always interested in these places in case I ever visit them.  That is just one article.  There are others but I would have to go through them to elaborate further.  Anyway, I got a plan.

I'm not sure my boss would let me go quite that far but it sounds like a good idea. Original.

Skulley

Mine was all for that idea.  Actually she is very artistic.  She acted like I never come up with any good ideas.  She already tried to get rid of them once.  But I wouldn't let her because I wanted them to be wallcovering for my "MAN ROOM".  Every man should have a "MAN ROOM" besides the garage and/or basement.  Right now I am holding my own..............but that could change.  Menopause could come into play.  When it does, it is not good............. :'(

I always thought 'menopause' meant to stop and think how likely it was you were going to get clouted by the nearest female because of the next thing you were about to say...??

...and on that note... I will stop right there.

I have bassmaster and in-fisherman back almost 20 years, and I have often thought about starting to take my favorite articles and convert them to electronic files, that could be searched by time of year, lake, or tactic.  How sweet would that be?

One of these days.

JC

Skulley

Archiving them electronically is an excellent idea.  I guess you have next winters project in place.  Can't do it this year...........winter is just about over.........Thank goodness.
