I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I've heard of this a number of times, but never tried it! Have any of you tried using carbonated drinks to stop a fish from bleeding?

I even found one mention from a fish physiologist about putting some Tums tablets in your livewell to add bicarbonate to raise the carbon dioxide level in your water.

He claims that carbon dioxide causes the blood vessels in the gills to vasoconstrict, stopping the bleeding.... ?

I would wonder though how this might affect their ability to take in enough oxygen in the livewell afterwards? I've seen no discussions yet of any or other concerns...?

No but I have used Rejuvenade to stop me bleeding.  Other than Hair Loss I have not felt any other side affects.

My buddy in TN has used Mountain Dew to stop the bleeding after hooking fish in the tongue. He claims it works.

i usually keep a 2 liter of sprite, but if im out i use monster.  this isnt for bleeding though, its to keep them from dying

It's about the only thing Mountain Dew is good for. I've done it many times and it works!

Well... I'll be...? Guess I'll have to remember that.

What is it about the MD that "Keeps them from Dying"? I thought the whole idea of a carbonated beverage was to coagulate the blood at the wound to stop bleeding when then translates into the fish not bleeding out and dying? Does  it "dew" something else too? lol couldn't resist :D

absolutely works to stop bleeding - especially when its tongue hooked. Regular sprite or coke seems to work best - diets not so well. Its almost instantaneous and pretty surprising how well it works.

I've been watching videos on this lately and it still amazes me. I'll surely keep some handy because what I've seen, it works almost instantly
