This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Fish Head, Huk joining forces for apparel

Fish Head, maker of popular lures like the Fish Head Spin and the Fish Head Bite Size Swimbait, announced Monday that it is partnering with Huk Performance fishing to produce high-end, co-branded apparel.

Initial cobranded products from the line will include various colors from Huk’s Performance Raglan and Kryptek Icon series emblazened with the Fish Head logo. Additional products will be added early in 2016.

Jon Peterson, co-owner of Fish Head, said the partnership was a no-brainer for his company.

“Huk has very quickly become the standard for innovation and quality in performance fishing gear," he said. "Our Fish Head lifestyle brand is rapidly expanding outside of our position in bass fishing lures. In selecting a partner for a high-end, co-branded apparel line, Huk was far and away our first choice. We are humbled and honored that they have chosen to partner with us.”

Jason Hart, vice president of business development for Huk's parent company Marolina Outdoor, Inc., said his company is also excited about the deal as well.

“Fish Head’s recognized product leadership position and relevant brand appeal made them a natural fit for Huk," Hart said. "We are very excited to outpace the market and grow our brands together,”
