I know we haven't even had the regional this year yet. I am bummed I can't make it, but I hear next year ours will be on Cherokee in Tennessee. Has anybody ever fished there before? Is it any good? What kind of weights can we expect in October? Is it deep and clear shallow and stained anybody have any experience?

Eric

I have been looking to find which one of the regionals MI will go to, but haven't been able to tell which one it is.  How did you hear that?

I e-mailed Flw. They said it was not in stone but that the Mi division was tentatively scheduled to fish Cherokee. So anybody have any experience?

SethV

There is a regional on KY lake - i figgured that is the one MI would go to.  Why would we drive PAST KY lake to TN???  That makes less sense than going to Ft Madison!!  LOL   ::)

Team houston

They are about the same drive. East Tennessee, which is more straight South  vs  Western Kentucky where we have to travel farther to the West.

WHAT! No Phil at regional this year! Who am I going to talk to while they are going over the rules? ;D I have never been on Cherokee, but I believe it is a pretty good fishery. I will chekc with a couple friends and reply back.

If you look at the dates the KY Reg. is the next weekend after the MI super tx. That's not enough time for the field to be finalized and give the compeditors time to make arrangements. Looked at Cherokee on Google earth and it looks great, lots of water, coves and islands.  It also has large mouth , small mouth and spots. Sounds alot like another Kentucky lake.

Even though I missed Burt and Mullett I was still able to sneak in at #39. Having taken a week vacation to go fish the TBF in Sandusky I am now out of vacation time. I even took a couple days without pay. I am bummed I am going to miss it, but look forward to fishing the full schedule next year and a brand new lake in Cherokee. Unless the wheels fall off. lol  With that said good luck Heath, Seth and all the other Michigan anglers in Iowa.

Team houston

It is official now. It is Cherokee
