Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

Name is Matthew Campbell, ready to start fishin tournaments next spring, have no friends that enjoy fishing as much as i do, therefore have no steady tournament partner. would like to find someone out there in the west michigan area that has the same problem. not worried about gettin a pro bass fisher just someone who enjoys fishing as much as i do and wants to start tournament fishing. Got a 16' flat bottom with tournament ready livewell.
             All types of people at all ages welcomed

Welcome to the site Matthew.  Your best best to really get some great info for partners might be to head east first.  Dan Kimmel puts on a fun tournament in the spring on Lake St. Clair.  Lots of west side guys come over, entry fee is practically nothing, and there's a great cookout with stories (and beer) afterwards.  Check it out here:
