Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I am pleased to announce that Camp Liberty, the Michigan Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Eisenhower Center are joining forces to host the 9th Annual "Tips-Up for the Troops" on Saturday, June 13th at the Kensington Metropark once again. The East Park pavilion, the West Boat Ramp, the big stage, the Island Queen pontoon boat, the pig roast, and the family fun walk will all be back again for another memorable bass fishing tournament and classic car show. The Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI) is going to be a sponsor of the event again along with the South East Michigan Bowhunters Chapter Safari Club International and the Laurel Manor of Livonia.

Thanks for posting this Capt. Charlie!  I had been trying to find out information about this, but had been unsuccessful.  I have put it down on my calendar and am looking forward to taking a veteran fishing.  This is a great event and I highly encourage everyone to participate.

TimH

With this event drawing closer, I wanted to post the flyer for all who might be interested.  If you haven't participated in a Tips up for the Troops in the past, do yourself a favor and make sure to attend this year.  It will be some of the best time you have ever spent on the water.  Please open the attachment for more information.

I talked to them yesterday and they are short on boaters. Wish guys wouldn't schedule tournaments that day.

TimH

I agree that it would be nice if they didn't schedule tournaments on this day, but I would hope that people wouldn't be afraid to skip a tournament and take a veteran fishing.  It is because of our veterans that we still have the freedoms and rights that allow us the opportunity to fish.  I know tournaments are important, but it comes down to recognizing priorities.  And yes, I am personally skipping a tournament that day to attend this event.

dartag

Agree Tim.  I am skipping an event which means I won't qualify for the year end championship.  Does not matter this is  much more important.  There are a people there I only see once a year.

See you there

Steve,  I look forward to seeing you there.  I appreciate your willingness to skip an event to be at Tips Up for Troops.  I hope you realize I wasn't directing my earlier comment at you, as it was more of a general statement that I wish people prioritized things with "doing the right thing" at the top of the list.  It is always a bummer to miss a tournament and be out of contention for the championship so early on in the season, but I would imagine you would agree with me when I say attending Tips Up for Troops leaves you with better memories and and even better feeling all season long than you would get from competing in a championship.

dartag

Got to admit driving in when the men and women are standing there holding flags gets me every time.

See ya there ..   I have a white Ranger with   www.exieparanormal.com     on the side.  Stop and say hi..
