I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

Due to low water levels on the Great Lakes, particularly Lake St. Clair, the mouth of the channel at the Michigan DNR Clinton River Cutoff ramp needs to be dredged.

We are going to try and put something together on Lake St Clair next Sunday Oct 4th out of Mitchells Bay.

Date - Sunday Oct 4th
Registration - 6:00 am to 6:55 am
Blast Off - 7:00 am or First Safe Light
Weighin - 3:30 pm
Location - Mitchells Bay Marine Park
Entry - $120 / Team (Includes Big Fish)

Same Rules as the Sundown events. Please bring a weight bag if you can, but we have some if needed. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like a copy of the rules.

Mitchells Bay October Tournament Rules

TEAMS & REGULATIONS

Written Permission: Participants under the Age of 18 must provide Written Consent from Parent or Guardian to be Eligible to Enter and be paired with an Adult Partner.
Sport License: All Participants are required to have a Valid Ontario Sport Fishing License if between the Ages of 18 and 65.
Fishing & Boating Regulations: All Fishing & Boating Regulations are to be adhered to.
Alcohol: Alcohol Consumption Not Permitted during Tournament Hours.

ELIGIBLE FISH

5 Fish Limit: Limit of 5 Bass may be presented for Weigh-In each day.
Species: Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass Only.
Length: All Fish must measure 12" or more from Tip to Tip.
Live Release: All Fish must be Alive for Weigh-in.
Dead Fish: Dead Fish must NOT be released at any time.

BOATS & EQUIPMENT

Boat & Motor: Boats Minimum 14 Feet Long Powered by a 9.9 HP Outboard or larger.
Watercraft & Power: Kayaks, Canoes, or similar PWC Not Permitted. Outboard Engines & Electric Motors Only.
Live Wells: All Boats Must have an Operable Live Well that meets Specifications in Ontario Fishing Regulations. Kill Switch: All Boats must be equipped with an Operable Kill Switch.
PFD: Coast Guard Approved PDF must be worn while Engine is Running.
Weigh Bags: Weigh Bags will NOT be Provided. All Teams are required to provide their own.

ELIGIBLE AREAS & BOUNDARIES

Eligible Waters: Lake St Clair Only.
Harbor Off Limits: Teams may not fish within Mitchells Bay Marine Park.
No Wake Zones: No Wake while Navigating in MB Marine Park.

FISHING METHODS & EQUIPMENT

Trolling: Trolling as a Technique using Engine or Electric Motor is Not Permitted.
Rod Length: Rods must be 8 Feet in Length or Less.
Rod Limit: One Rod per Person in use at any time.
Artificial Lures Only: Live, Dead or Prepared Bait not permitted (except Pork Rind).
Pre-Fishing Cut-Off: Pre-Fishing Not Permitted prior to Blast-Off on Tournament Day.

PENALTIES

Ineligible Fish: 1 LB Penalty for Any Short or Dead Fish.
Short Fish: Will be removed from limit before Weigh-In plus 1 LB Penalty.
Dead Fish: Ineligible for Big Fish Award.
Late: 1LB Penalty for each Minute late.
15 Minutes Late: Disqualification after 15 minutes.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Disqualification for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
Other Rule Infractions: Disqualification for any other unspecified Rule Infraction.
