I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

after 2 trips to kent the bottom of my boat was orange..  i dry it off every time it is out of the water but this stuff was nasty.  i had to use Lime Away to clean it then wax it.  anyone know of another boat cleaner that will cut that goo.   although i will be on Cass and Union the next few weeks.  clean clear water...

Though I haven't had my boat on Kent, I think know the stuff you're talking about.  Best case is to get a spray bottle of vinegar and water and get the stuff off before it drys, when you trailer up.

After the fact, a bucket with a mixture of vinegar, hot water and Dawn (no other dishwashing detergent) will do wonders.  For really tough areas, soak a paper towel in the bucket, wring it out and stick it on the hull for a few minutes to work on the deposit.  That should do the trick if stuff on your hull is what I think it is.

For really tough stuff, I've had good luck in the past with some of the products that Larsen Sales sells: http://www.larsensales.com/   His Multi Purpose cleaner is really good stuff.

I get the same kind of ring on my boat from the Grand River.  I use a hard core acid based cleaner called Zap.  I picked it up a marine supply store in Grand Rapids.  Once the stain is gone I use Bass Boat Saver to keep it gone.  I have found that it I stay up on cleaning with Bass Boat Saver the ring will not even stick or wipe off real easy.

I had some really strange "splotches" on my boat, turns out I missed a few spots waxing. Used some cleaner a door-to-door guy sold me, worked great I think it was called Ama-Zing just sprayed it on and hosed it off.

the Works for tub and tile works well just don't use the one for toilets

Everytime I am finished fishing for the day, I wipe my boat down using furniture polish I purchased at the dollar store and a clean towel.  It keeps the boat clean and shiny as well as helps keep the scum from sticking to the hull.  You can use all the expensive products out on the market you want, but I have found the lemon furniture polish at the dollar store works just as good as well as help remove the scum line from a days fishing.  Economical is the word here.  Try it. You maybe pleasantly surprised.  I know I was when an old friend of mine introduced me to it.

going to try the polish thing.  the lemony smell would be nice. i do use vinager and water when i clean the boat after being on the water.. sure was nice after being on Cass yesterday to just spray and dry the boat off.  not sure what is in the water at Kent.  or maybe i don't want to know..

Anthony uses furniture polish for the boat. The only thing is, don't use it on the top deck rail. He did and about took a nose dive off the front of the boat trying to crank it down. It gets slick when water gets on it.

Bender

I wipe the boat (and trailer if I have time) down with Bass Boat Saver and have not had any issues after Kent Lake. Probably the same ingredients as the furniture polish, who knows?

BBS is some real good stuf and smells good to. It will remove any scum line with a spray and wipe of a towel. When I buy it I cut it 50/50 with water. Works great.
