Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

any tips for 2 old guys-57 and 59 to fish around the week of the 4th? my brother lives in edwardsburg and we decided to use his place as our base of operation for 3 days. we want to hit some of the area lakes that won't have too much traffic ;D and where we can get some nice action. would Klinger would a good one for action or too much boat lice during this time?any other tips would be good too..Karol

I've never been on Klinger but I would think the size with that many houses around it would be buzzing on a summer holiday weekend? Be interesting to hear from anglers who frequent the lake if that is an accurate assessment or not?

I like to go to either small and/or no wake lakes, or the Great Lakes on holiday weekends when possible.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Klinger will be a circus heck down right dangerous.Maybe check out the saddlebag chain of lakes.

Klinger is a TERRIBLE lake anymore (used to be one of the best in Michigan) and it will have 100s of boats on it that weekend.  I'd recommend finding a small lake with a tiny ramp (probably one without a dock) if you want to avoid boats. Any July weekend is really busy on most lakes in southern Michigan since it's so close to Chicago and Detroit.
