Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Please check out MUCC's thorough latest Update on the Fight for Public Access on Eagle Lake. I could not make it there in person due to a bass season proposal meeting I needed to attend at the same time, but several GreatLakesBass.com members were there, and Duke made sure the two Michigan bass federation letters were in the official record, along with also speaking on behalf of his own group - www.randbbasscircuit.com.

The lake association has pushed for another appeal in front of the Ontwa Township zoning board of appeals - the group that voted down the last MDNR plan losing the prime property to the lake association group. We don't want that to stop the new (AND LAST) property available for a decent public access to the 2nd biggest lake in Cass County - along with access to 3 other nice lakes!

Several easy ways listed in the MUCC article that you can use to help get Michigan a too rare new public access site. Please read it and take 5 - 10 minutes to make a huge difference for Michigan fishing! Thank you!

As MUCC points out: A simple letter or email voicing your support for public access can go a long way in the fight for public access.

  • Write to the Ontwa Township Planning Commission, PO Box 209, Edwardsburg, MI 49112
  • Write a letter to the editor: Cassopolis Vigilant/Edwardsburg Argus, Michael Caldwell, publisher
  • Send an email to a member of the Planning Commission or Township Board here.

I've attached both of the letters turned in by the Michigan bass federations.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
