Hey guys I'm thinking bout taking a trip to long lake or Burt/mullet lakes next WKend and was wondering if the post spawn funk would b over? Thanks kb

zman5

I was up to the cottage on Long Lake for a week - two weeks ago and the smallmouth fishing was decent, caught between 100-150 fish and lost another 50 probly ??? but only fished 3-4 hours each morning. The fish were schooled up all over feeding on mayflies but they are all but done. I did best on the weed edges 10-15 feet deep.

Zman were there any size to them or just cookie cutters?

Only landed one that scaled over 4#, maybe half dozen or so between 3.5 to 4# most were 2-3#. Thats pretty much typical for that lake- great numbers but not hogs or at least I never find them.
