Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

2013 Cash for Bass Lake Erie OPEN RESULTS

The first CFB event ever held on Lake Erie took place this past weekend with 11 boats braving the elements and the big waters of Lake Erie. This first event was an Open to introduce the Ohio anglers to tournaments CFB style. With a 90% payback in CA$H at the ramp these events had to expand onto one of THE BEST smallmouth lakes in the world!

The results are as follows:

1st Place - Domonkos Domonkos      21.85lbs
2nd Place - Trombly Wicks      20.38lbs

1st Big Bass - Domonkos Domonkos   5.35lbs

The first of five events for the Lake Erie Tour is scheduled for this weekend July 6th launching out of the Shelby Street Ramp in Sandusky, OH. Entry fee is $150 per team and there is an optional Big Bass Jackpot.

Only the FIVE CFB Lake Erie Tour events qualify for the Cash for Bass 2 Day Classic on Lake ST Clair on October 5th & 6th, 2013.

Come on out and see what tournament fishing can be.....90% Payback in CA$H at the ramp! No membership fees! Portions of each tournament's purse are set aside for the Classic Payout so there will be more CA$H paid back at the ramp!
