This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Might be disappointing to some anglers - the cancelling of the Bassmaster University seminar series for at least 2007. Not sure what is going on there. Got a call about it today after someone read it on BassFan Docktalk.

Seems to be a year of a lot of change already coming up.

I had heard this on another board also and forgot to pass it on, sorry.  Figures, I was hoping to go to one this year.

I went once a while back. I liked parts of it. I hate to see it go.

I have to sometimes be Johnny on the spot with these notices to keep my forum rating up there...;D

That's too bad.  I've been to 4 of them mainly as an excuse to get away in the winter for a few days.  You don't learn a ton of advanced techniques, but it was still fun to get autographs and talk fishin' for a few days when the withdrawals were in full affect.  I have a hat that has been signed by many/most of the greats from going to these seminars.  There are still a couple of signatures I wanted to get.  Hope they bring it back some day.  I stopped going when they changed to a 3 weekend format for the advanced seminars.  I couldn't get out and travel 3 weekends in a row to attend these things.  I wonder if that killed their attendance.
