I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I'd like to start by saying thanks for the wishes of luck from all of you.

Day 1 was a heart breaker!!! My partner(Roger Crafton, Fuji Film Pro) and I started off by making a 35 mile run away from the rain but it quickly caught up to us. When the rain started this fish began to start hitting of course they were all 11 3/4 inches because it was a 12 inch limit.
We ran to a couple different spots before settling down on the famous Decatur Flats where about 30 other boats where beating it up. Everyone was throwing frogs, jigs and spinner baits so I decided to throw a drop shot rig on the drop off in about 10-16 f.o.w. I managed to pick up 4 with my biggest fish was a whopping 14 inches. I had them weighed on my scale @ 6.20 lbs. Roger managed 2 after he switched up to a drop shot.
We stayed till about 5 minuted left till check in and that darn E-Tec he was running decided it wasn't going to start. I hopped on the Trolling motor while he tried to get her going. It finally started and then thing overheated. Needless to say we were 20 min late so we lost that days catch due to penalty's.

The second day was cold as it was here in Mich but my partner (Todd Auten) was on fish so we quickly warmed up. I had 4 in the boat by 10:30 with Todd having 2.
I gave him a Cotten Cordell "Smokie Joe" which was what I had caught my 4 on and he quickly had his limit. I fished hard for the rest of the day and had 3 quality fish just come off after they showed themselves to me. No line break no jumping and throwing the lure just plain came off.
After everything was said and done I ended up with 7.8 for my second day weight which landed me in 60th. If I would have been able to weigh in both days I'd would have been in 11th but it wasn't meant to be.
Maybe next year. Thanks again for all the support.

Sorry to here about your bad luck dave. It sounds like you would have had a real good showing and a Nice check for your efforts if that boat would have been powered by a yamaha :o

Thanks for the firsthand report. Sounds like you did your best with what was in your control.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
