I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

We just sold our house with the goal of moving to lakefront.

We want to stay fairly close to the wixom / walled lake area for church and school.

What lakes would be your first choices?
Wolverine
Commerce
Sherwood
Union
Long
Lower / Middle Straights

Not much for sale right now, if you happen to know anyone that wants to sell lakefront we are looking!!

I'm not as familiar with the lakes over that way, but if you want to venture out to Livingston County I'd suggest Big/Little Crooked. It's decent sized and the ramp isn't very good so it gets very little traffic but the fishing is pretty good. And it's pretty close to Brighton and I-96. I lived across the street from the lake for several years and really liked the fact that it doesn't get the traffic of other lakes in this area.

I've only been on Commerce once and it is a really great, private chain but it was fairly busy.

been on union for 26 years.  If you want a big clean lake that is the one.  Kind of crowded in the summer but with 465 acres there is lots of room.  great smallies in the spring and fall.  The lake has never been sprayed for weeds.

Every day on Union looks like this.

Iff you can find something on commerce, you wont regret moving there.  Awesome lake for both largemouth and smallmouth.  Had a friend who lived in island club and we were the only fishing boat out there 90% of the time.

I hear Sherwood is one of the best kept secret bass lakes around and the Crappies are big slabs as well.

Frank

for fishing i hear sherwood is the way to go.  for living, you cant beat the "no wake til 11am" rule on Wolverine.  No 7am skiers that way
