Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Hey guys, I'm involved in a really fun club on the eastside.  Recently we've had an influx of nonboaters who really want to fish with us, but we're short on boaters.  This club is a blast.  We've had some great events this year and are really enjoying non-competitive fun fishing together.  We could really use a couple more boaters to join us.  If you want to check us out, please let me know.

What lakes do you fish?

Revtro

We've already fished Cass, and St. Clair (We'll be fishing it again).  The next lakes in line are:
Ovid - July 1
Orion - July 29
Maceday - August 5
Lobdell - August 19
Halfmoon - September 2
Portage - September 16
Kent - September 30
Tipsico - October 21

There's a chance we may opt for an eary October date in the St. Clair channels, if we can get an "on the water" seminar arranged.  3 times this year we're doing these "on the water" seminars.  We've done two already and they were a huge sucess.  We brought out professionals to spend an hour and a half on each boat during the day and work with the guys to show them the secrets of fishing the lake, work on technique, and discuss tournament strategies.  They have been awesome!  They went so well that we'd love to do even more of these next year.  If there were enough guides or tourney pros who were willing to do them, it would be cool to do most of our events this way.  But that may be too much to ask for.   ;D

Hey Tom,

I got a chance to fish with Fiker50 last night in an NBAA tourny.
He was telling me that he was a little disapointed that the circuit was a little
more on the competitive side than on the learning side.

I told him about this particular post and that he should check it out.
Rick is a great guy and just wants to learn more, better yet... he has a boat too.
Just wondering if you might wanna drop him a PM and give him the low down.

Take care,

joshimoto son ;D

Sounds great.  Thanks for putting in a good word.

I may be able to do a couple of these dates.  (halfmoon, kent, portage)

My boat is small.  (16ft aluminum w/ 25hp), but big enough for these 3.

I'm not sure about the other dates.

I'll need more info as to how much, times, how/who to contact etc.

(by the by, the reason I spoke with Josh was because he was gracious enough to sub with me on Portage Lake last night).  Thanks again Josh.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

You can check out our dates at: http://eastsideclub.proboards42.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=1147794982

There is no cost to join the club.  No cost for events since they aren't competitions.  I'd be the contact guy, you can reach me at tom@scruffychurch.com

Hope you can make a few of these.  That size boat is probably good for most of these lakes as long as we don't have rough weather.  We'd love to have ya.
