I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Shurhold sells excellent Microfiber towels in 3 towel variety packs: "Each of the microfiber towels in the three-pack has a different purpose. The dark blue towel is super soft for polishing and shining; the yellow towel is extra strong for washing and cleaning; the light blue towel is lint free for cleaning and wiping glass and mirrors."

Or a 12 pack of the blue glass and mirrors (and screens) towels. They've redesigned their web site and even offer reward points now!

They've added a new fishing section that has some interesting articles including a bass fishing tips from Derek Yamamoto and a good one about proper use of a marine VHF radio.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

If the water spots have been on the screen for a long time, you have to let the vinegar Windex soak a while.  Spray the screen and then spray a soft cloth and let the cloth sit on the screen for 10 minutes or so and then wipe it off. Products like Rain X and Crystal Vision usually wear off quickly but they do offer some protection as long as you apply them frequently.

On a recent episode of the "Bass Pros", Stacey King showed his recommendation for water spots on the screen. He soaked a paper towel with vinegar and just let it set on the screen for about ten minutes or so. The water spots are actually lime or calcium deposits and the vinegar eats it away. Then just wipe down with a soft cloth and Windex.

The Lindners had a special back in january on the humminbird. A topic was cleaning. They being sponsored by humminbird I tried the recommondations on cleaning.
To get water spots off the screen; put a soft cotton cloth on the screen and soak it with pure white viniger. Let it soak for some time and lift off.
Clean the screen with a mixture of dawn soap and alcohol. In a 2 oz spray bottle put 2 drops of the detergent in the bottle and fill the rest of the space with pure alcohol. It takes all the finger prints off and if there is any water stains remaining repeat the vinegar with a soft cotton cloth.
Boy does this mixture work. My screens look brand new. I have cleaned everything I have with a liquid crystal screen. What a differance.
Hope this helps someone save some money and keep their screens clean.
later ya'll
