I'm disappointed to see now that House Natural Resources and Tourism Committee Chair Representative David Martin has added those very bad commercial fishing bills HB 5801 and 5802 to an upcoming committee hearing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at noon.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

'FLW Outdoors' Returns To Versus Oct. 3

One-hour show covers Brent Long's first FLW Tour win on Lake Guntersville

MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 29, 2010) — The 2010 FLW Tour season finale took place on legendary Lake Guntersville in northern Alabama. But two North Carolina fishermen stole the spotlight. While Damiki pro Bryan Thrift claimed the prestigious Angler of the Year award, his buddy Brent Long pinned down his first FLW Tour victory. Complete coverage of the event will air Oct. 3 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. ET on VERSUS as part of the weekly "FLW Outdoors" program.
