The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

I don't know if this will accomplish anything, but I'm at a loss for what else to do at the moment and something has to happen to reign in what seems to me to be artificially inflated gas prices. This is the online petition being put out by our Michigan government:

I guess I figure it can't hurt to fill out one.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Pretty much everyone I know has signed this.  I dont run along any party lines but I dont think oil companies are worried much while the current president is in office.

Something has to be done though, maybe this will get a ball rolling.

Anything is worth a try. However, I refuse to be held hostage by these bums. At WOT I figure I burn a gallon in just minutes, perhaps a little less WOT will help some.
Everybody thought Kennedy was nuts when he wanted to put a man on the moon in a decade. We spent zillions. Got R Done. And your bass boat is full of stuff that came from that.
An all out effort like that is what it will take to remove our dependence on oil, foreign or domestic. We're going to spend the zillions anyway, let's spend it to free ourselves from this mess.
Look past what they want you to see.
