Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

Free Carlisle Bobbers (Sat. & Sun. Only)

Free Bobbers to the 1st 500 children on Saturday and Sunday.  The Ultimate Fishing Show has teamed up with Michigan's own Carlisle Float company to make this special offer.  Every youngster has room for a high quality bobber in his or her tackle box.  Come to the show this winter and catch more fish this summer.

Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger Food Drive Thursday, January 08 All Day Event

The Ultimate Fishing Show has partnered with Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger for a huge opening night food drive.  Bring a sack of non-perishable food items (minimum of 4 pounds or 6 cans or boxes) to the Rock Financial Showplace on opening night, Thursday, January 7th and get in for FREE!  The food will be collected by volunteers from local conservation organizations and donated to the Red Cross and area food banks.

WRIF's Bobbing for Trout Competition!

WRIF FM will host the Bobbing for Trout Competition on Saturday at 3pm!  WRIF will be broadcasting live from the Show on Saturday from 11am-3pm and the competition will immediately follow.  The grand prize winner of the will receive the Ultimate Manistee Charter Fishing Getaway.  Listen to WRIF FM for more details and how to qualify to compete.

WYCD's Fishing Photo Contest

Have a great photo of "you and your fish?"  Listen to WYCD FM for details on how to submit the photo for a chance to win a gift certificate to KD Outdoors!  Linda Lee of WYCD will be at the show on Saturday, January 9 form 12pm - 2pm and will choose the grand prize winner.
