I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Hi all,

I was thinking of heading up to Green/Duck lakes the weekend of the 24th, weather permitting. I have never fished there before, can anybody tell me what to expect this time of the year?  Smallies? Largemouths? Both!?

Thanks for any and all input.

Willie
Peace.
It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

Check out my teardropbass.com website and look under the different year articles. You will find several Classic articles that are up on Duck and Green in late fall. I also just put up a report on this year's Ice Mountain Tear Drop Tournament Trail Classic that was held the end of August up on my daily blog just yesterday. It was held up in Interlochen on Long Lake and Green. You will most definitely want to spend some time on Long Lake which is just north of Duck and Green a short ways, around 7-10 miles.
They keep a cabin open up there at the state park in Interlochen if you are looking for a place to stay. It's right on the water, two bunk beds, heated, small table, coffee pot etc.
I would think you will be in to mostly smallies, however there are some good largemouth to be had as well.
Lots of great smallmouth fishing up there. Too many lakes to try on a weekend, not to mention the Bay.

Both lakes are well know for their quality Smallmouth fishing. Green lake has multiple DNR Master Angler awards for Smallmouth. Both lakes have clear water. If you've been to Cass or Union lake, they are similar. I've caught largemouth on both but the winning bag will probably be Smallies.
