Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Caught exactly 20 today between 8 am and 10 am at the mile roads in 8 FOW...I pulled the TM motor up to go look at some other areas after that for the future and the wind picked up some so I called it a day around 11....I have no doubt that if I would have stayed on the roads I probably could have caught close to 40...I weighed four fish that all were just under 5...I probably would have had around 20lbs....
I wanted to work moving baits, but I couldn't get that going....It seemed like today they wanted a tube "dragged" with no action...I would feel the tube hit a shell bed or some rocks and usually once it pulled free I would get a hit...
Next time I go out I am going to leave the tubes in the box...I need to work on moving baits, I just cannot get it going with them...(Jerkbaits and traps)
I practiced back reeling some today......that was kind of fun and It was good to try something new...

The boat traffic wasn't bad at all and it was an enjoyable day for a Saturday on LSC...

Water clarity was probably around 3 FT...

We had absolutely the opposite - slowbaits didn't really produce but jerkbaits were the ticket for the big fish. I think we only caught one on a tube and a few on dropshots

Got out Saturday morning and fished the mile roads. (Fishing out of my Ranger z20 - White with red/gold). My buddy (Charlie) and I caught about 35. Started around the Ford Mansion and caught small fish, decided to move north away from the floatela. We found some females that seemed to be staging in about 8 ft of water. Found some slightly clearer water north and that is where they seemed to be holding. I caught a 4-14 and my buddy caught a personal best 5-15 smallie. That was a pig.

Water temp was 55 and muddy. Winds were brisk and coming out of the SW and W. The jerkbait bite was pretty hot and lipless cranks seemed to work. Dropshots and tubes didn't really work out.

I saw you guys.  I was in the blue z-19.  I found the same pattern with the flotilla.  I fished deeper and more to the north and found a concentration of big stagers.  My biggest was almost 6 lbs.  I went more to the north and closer to shore and found a few more.
Got one!
