I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Double Standards in Washington

Watching all the newscasts on the proposed bailout of the auto industry is just about to put me over the edge.  >:( Several items I'd like to point out the News casts are choosing to overlook or ignore:

The companies are looking for loan guarantees not handouts like the financial system. If they don't get this help the situation has the potential to create either an ongoing recession or plunge us into a depression by taking the earning power from the millions of people the financial system is relying on to recover.

The auto industry and the UAW, if they are going to be granted any monetary support are being told to come up with a plan on how they are going to destroy the middle class just to appease the politicians' wants. I know a lot of us depend on the industry for your livelihoods and lot more don't realize yet how much they do.

As all this is happening, what are the banks doing with their unregulated handout? Using the billions to purchase other banks, pay dividends and increase bonuses. They are not making credit any easier to obtain. Why would they do that? Their profit is being guaranteed by Hank Paulson.

How can these Democratic and Republican Congress members have the audacity to sit in front of the American public and accuse anybody of system abuses? The Congress has given up nothing since the economy has been spiraling downward. Premium Healthcare, Limo Drivers, 1st class flights home once or more a week and all the perks of Washington's elite are the standard.

Thank you for letting me vent. What are your thoughts?

Oh boy... talk about thankless, maybe hopeless jobs... I have more than enough 'fun' just being on various boards. I respectfully and regretfully must decline the nomination ;D

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
