I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Fished White Lake yesterday with a buddy of mine.  The lake was interesting, and it reminded me of some other lakes I've hit in the past.  Conditions were brutal with 38 degree temperature, 44 degree water temperature, sleet, rain, and snow.

Despite the weather, we still managed 14 largemouth, 14 pike, and 1 black crappie.  Never did find those elusive smallmouth.  Which seemed rather odd to me that we didn't catch any.  It seemed like that lake better fit a smallmouth fishery than a largemouth fishery.

Fish were caught 14 to 18 feet.

I have not fished white lake much, but agree with your comments. I do know that there are some monsters in there (smallies and green heads), the smallies seem to elude me most of the time as well. I have heard the the smallmouth fishing is much better...guess it is one more thing to look forward to  :)

fished it this fall for a 3 hour tourny.  we caught a lot of largies but only short smallies.  15 lbs won we had 13 for 3rd.   we did catch a couple pike.  only got to fish a little of the lake but plan on spending more time there next year.  if you check the NBAA results page there have been some nice bags and quite a few 4 pound plus fish weighed.  that launch is a little bit of a challange.  the bait next door store runs a week night open all summer.  if you get thristy there is a party store and a bar on the lake also. The white lake inn is famous for it's friday fish fry.   only 6 more months to wait to check it out :'( :'(

smallies are common in early spring but disappear after they spawn. i have caught them late fall on suspending rogues but its been about 4 years. theres some big smallies and giant largemouth in the but once the party people put the boats in it gets very tough and at times dangerous to fish.

Did Kent and White Lake used to be connected? ;D

About 10 - 11,000 years ago by a big chunk of ice maybe...?

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Close, the Huron River runs just east of it into Pontiac Lake:

Close enough to make the fishing poor.
