I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

New to forum, looking for some advice on where to take and newly purchased used Ranger with a 107# motor guide troller that only seems to work when the foot pedal is in certain directional positions??  It seems to be shorting out when the wiring is twisted in the wrong manner.  I believe it would work great if I were to to get the troller re-wired.  Any advice on where to take it, and is this a costly endeavor?  I live near Flint  wonderland? freeway sports? anyone else???   thanks in advance

Sorry for not noticing your question earlier.  We are an authorized Motorguide service  center.  If you call the service dept. they can fill you in.

My old motorguide had similar problems.  Take the cap off and see if there are any exposed wires at the top that you could just wrap electrical tap around.  On my old 36 volt 107 the wires had melted together inside the shaft,  I found this when I took it apart for parts.  If you don't have digital I wouldn't spend more than $100 fixing it, it will end up being a waste of money when your board blows.

I've worked on a lot of the MG and MK trolling motors with wiring that has melded together. The common reason is that there is debris behind the prop creating resistance causing heat in the wiring. I presonally take the prop off my MK at least once a month and if I've been fishing a lake with lots of weeds as soon as I get back to the garage. The melting of the wires just doesn't happen, there is a reason.

thanks for the responses guys. I found out that the previous owner had the 3 12v batteries not in the proper pattern and 2 of the batteries were not holding a charge very well.  2 new batteries and a proper 36v pattern and everything is working fine!!  Thanks to the guys at Wonderland marine, I was very pleased with their service and the time spent with me to get me aquainted with the workings of my new toy.  Thanks to JD and everyone else at wonderland!!!!
