Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I've got a Humminbird SOLIX 15 and Helix 10 MEGA on my boat right now. I really like both of them. The SOLIX has a ton of advantages for running everything at the console and the Helix is a wonderfully simple effective either at the console or up front.

I'd strongly encourage you to look at any of the Humminbird units with MEGA technology. I knew it was going to show me some great images of structure down there, but I was skeptical of how many more fish I was going to catch because of it. I've found the MEGA really picks out fish on SI really well and without more question have caught more fish this spring because of it. It's nice to be able to idle down a stretch and pick out exactly where they are!

I have always run Lowrance myself. The new boat in a box deals are really nice. 2 hds 9 touches , all the cables and the 3d si/di transducer. Not cheap but all in all 3 grand is not bad  to me.

i have lowrances. Gen2s. I think right now - HBird is out in front with the MEGA stuff. Give it 6 months and lowrance will hit back and it will go back and forth per usual.  I haven't seen enough improvements to move forward from the Gen2s to make it worth the investment at this point.

Ya fish stick I was thinking going h.bird and getting a helix 7g2n for the bow and a helix 9 mega g2n for the console.  I've used lowrance so that's what I'm familiar with, but but kinda looking to change it up.
I've got to new 798s w/SI that came with the boat when I bought but not a big fan if em. I've also just thot of getting to gen2/3 he's 7s and call it good for now. Lol

Waterfoul

Being a dealer I've run most of the brands out there.  I'm about to put a Lowrance Elite Ti 12 in my boat to demo for the summer, so the book is still out on that unit and it's autochart capabilities.

For my money I'd probably stick with the Humminbird models though.  The Mega imaging is outstanding.
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

I love the helix units.  I would upgrade to mega if I could, but cannot afford it right now.

I am running two units ( a helix 7 and older lowrance 7 unit) at the back of the boat, and I run a Humminbird 859 on the bow.

My preference is definitely for the Birds

korean_bassmaster

well i ended up getting a helix 7 g2n di for the bow. and so far i love it. now just gotta wait til next spring to get that helix 9 for the console.  :(

Well, at least you've started, and you have something to look forward to!!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
