I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I know you are macbass... I just read your review on cabelas site.

So now that they have been out for a full season... are they as good as advertised?  I'm looking for a decent spinning reel for my new Outlaw shakey head rod... is this a reel I should be looking at or not?  Does that round handle bother you?  Do you have any issues going from the Wavecast reel to a "standard" reel handle???

So if you have used this reel, please let me know what you think.

Never heard of them, although I have not been in the market for any new reels and spend too much time in my basement.

There is a test of them at tackletour.com...I can't copy and paste on this computer or else I would hook you up with the link.

I got one from the DJK Fall open and used it last fall. The only real problem I found with it is a slight loss of casting distance. Other than that, it is a solid reel and I plan on using it quite a bit this summer.

I believe it has won at least one award for new products, or innovation or something?? But I did not pretest the one that was graciously donated to us before I awarded it out. It seemed solid and well put together.

Well, after "playing" with a ton of reels this weekend I decided on the Bass Pro Shop's Pro Qualifier reel in the 4000 series (the larger reel balances my rod best).  I'm going to fill one spool with 14 lb Power Pro and the other with BPS Florocarbon in 12 lb.  This reel will be going on my B&R Outlaw 7'2" Medium Extra Fast rod for shakey head worming.

This reel is very smooth and the drag feels good too.  I'm curious if the larger "mag spool" will indeed help with casting distance and cut down on line twist.
