So it is my understanding that the old Redman circuit became the BFL.  How did that transition occur, did FLW buy the Redman or did the Redman fold and FLW brought it back to life, or some other scenario.  Also I was told you could have bought a lifetime membership to Redman..?..so was that membership transferable to FLW??

Irwin Jacobs bought Operation Bass because it seemed like a good business move. To my knowledge, Redman was doing pretty good at the time - which is what attracted Jacobs/Genmar. Easier to improve on a successful company than build an entirely new one apparently.

I had a life membership with Operation Bass. It was honored. Nothing actually changed with the business records and membership. They just changed the name and ramped up the engine making it a major tournament company.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
