Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

So, do you think fishing the hot pond is nearly done???  From what little I know I imagine it depends on if the launch area and access to Lake Erie freezes up.  Have to play the weather. Is anyone still trying to get out?  Have an open seat ???  Maybe Tuesday weather dependent.   :-\'

The fishing is good as long as you can get there. The water in there is around 60 all winter.   There is no ice in our area.  The problem has been the wind.  Any wind other than a West wind makes it very rough because the water is shallow. To safely get in you need to go quite  way out into Erie and head North.   If you do go a weekday would probably be better.   With all the Internet talk about the place I bet the place will be getting more crowded every weekend.  There were at least 15 boats in there both days last weekend.

There's a few people still going (not me at the moment) and they're still catching fish when they get in including a nice limit of walleye someone sent me that they caught trolling a Husky Jerk inside the hot pond.

A real strong west wind can blow too much water out too so you want calmer winds. Because you have to run out a ways any stiff wind makes it bumpy so stay dry getting in and out.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
