I will be fishing the Tournament of Champions for Angler's Dream on September 29 & 30.  Lookin for help on what areas to target (flats, points ,docks deep, shallow?) and whether to target largies or smallies.  I'm not looking for hot spots.  Just some direction.  By the way I am going out of Fisherman's Landing, and there are no off limit waters.  Mona, White, and Lake Michigan are fishable.  I will be heading up over Labor Day weekend to familiarize myself with the lake.  Otherwise, I will only be able to pre-fish the Friday before the tournament.  Thanks in advance for any help.

If there are no of limits, fish right at Fisherman's landing.  I'm not much help other than that.

I second what Eric said, but don't waste a lot of time if its not working. Last month the channel itself and the flat just outside on the east was good, but this past weekend is was 'off'. The mouth of Bear Lake channel has been pretty good this year at times - worth a look. Same for the big lake channel/pierheads, but pretty risky because you can waste a lot of time going out there - I guess its all about water temp and if the smallies are in there chasing bait (I've never hit it right). Lots of good breaklines around the lake - look for irregularities - 8'-12' has been the best for us. The flats and dropoffs around the 'black bouy' can be good for a few fish sometimes.

Running up to White is a possibility but expect a lot of clones. Lots of 9-12 lb limits caught there this year. Might be ok if you are looking for points, but if you are looking for the win, I'd suggest utilizing your time and stay at Muskegon. Hard enough learning 1 lake in a day let alone 2 lakes. Good luck!
