Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Gentlemen,

I have completed a project at work and I am back to a normal life.  This means I can enjoy some weekends torment fishing.  Before I had no time for my family with the hours I was working.  So two times a week kept me sane, I am ready to fish torments.  I recently moved back from Illinois, I am from Michigan originally and I promised the crew I would hunt one more season before turning the bay rig in for a bass boat.  I traded the Bass Cat in for the Rough Neck when I was transferred near the Mississippi.

I am looking for any groups that have non boater vacancy.  I appreciate your help in advance and good luck.

Welcome back to Michigan - the best fishing in the world (I think we are spoiled anyway, but I'm not complaining).

Check the club boards below on the forum. More information there about some clubs in the SE Michigan area. There are also some boater/nonboater tournament circuits you might be interested in like BFL or ABA, boards for those also.

Depends on how far you want to travel and how much you want to spend. Hang out on here too and maybe you can meet some new fishing partners.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Welcome back.

If you're interested in a non-competitive, fairly inexpensive afternoon, check out the East Side Bass Anglers club for our Aug. 18 outing on Lake St. Clair.
The last I knew, Wayne Carpenter might do a "Day on the Lake" with us that day.
We're just a group of guys that fish, and enjoy each others company.  There are no fees.
Those of us that are nonboaters just kick into the boaters some gas money.  We bring out own lunch, and some of us stop off at a resteraunt afterwards.
You can check out our schedule of upcoming events on the board.  On the DOL events, we try and get a local "expert" to hop from boat to boat and show us how to fish the lake we're on.  For a guy just new to the Michigan scene here in SE Mich., this might be just what you're looking for.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.
