I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Need Some Beta Testers

I launched a new site recently at http://spotstor.com and I need some beta testers to give some feedback and put a load on the site and web server.

It allows users to upload and convert GPS waypoint data
from a variety of formats (as well as exporting into the same).   You can also create buddies and swap selected waypoints with other users you specify.

More about it on the FAQ.  GPS data formats are here (Including Lowrance, Garmin, Magellan, etc. - I'm still working on Humminbird).

It's completely free with no strings so if you're interested, you can head over and click the signup link in the top right.  You can cancel your account and delete all of your data at any time if you don't like it. :)

Thought you dropped off the face of the earth...? Good to know you're still alive and kicking.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Sorry about that.  I kind of went into "hermit mode" for awhile.  I've been working on Spotstor in what spare time I had left over since late last summer (though I did manage to fit in a Green Bay trip and a few trips out to Erie).

Let me know if you sign up for a Spotstor account and I'll share a few of my spots on the Lake with you.  I don't think I'll be fishing any T's this year out there - at least not until the herniated disc in my back gets cleared up.   :(

JCOOPER

Jon,

Good to hear from you again.  I used to enjoy reading your reports.  They were prolly the most detailed reports at the time.  I did sign up, although lately my fishing time has been very limited (newborn, springtime in the marine business and another newborn on the way) so I am not sure how much I will use it.

Jon:

good to see you back - I just signed up for my account and will le tyou know how it works.  I'll add my Geo-caching info there to give it a test drive.  Talk to ya soon.

@JCooper
- I'll try to start getting more of those fishing reports going.   Need to do more fishing, though.  :-\'

@Jack
- Hey!   Thanks and let me know what you think.  You can export your points from your Lowrance onto a memory card, plug it into your laptop and upload the .USR file directly in one batch.   I've tested it up to 1000 points at a time so far.

I'm thinking about doing a weekend boat-in-and-fish-like-a-crazyman trip to the the Islands (mainly the large one that rhymes with "Melee"  ;)) sometime over the summer.  Interested?  Alternately, we could connect up and hit channels.

yukonjack2

Sounds good - I'll let ya know how the upload goes when I get a chance.  ANy suggestions what weekends you were thinking of?
