Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just saw a copy of the nice from the city.  They will be working on Lakeside from Wealthy north to around the corner starting April 17 (weather permitting) and are not scheduled to be done till August 17.  All new water and sewer service.  They will be leaving daytime access to Roses Restaurant next to the ramp and one way lanes on Lakeside for most of the summer, but as I read it... the ramp will basically be closed while they work on the east side of the road and MIGHT be open to use while they work on the west side of the road, but don't count on it.

So if you had plans to hit this great fishery this summer, you'll have to wait a year.  Bummer, love fishing there.  It's 10 minutes from work to boat wet in the evenings and only 20 minutes from home to boat wet Monday mornings!  Going to miss fishing there this year.

It also means we will have to re-locate our Junior Diabetes Research Foundation tournament this year.  Have not decided on a location yet but I'll post it up as soon as I know.

You might be able to get in some late summer - fall fishing there anyway?

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I was hoping Rick would've left his waypoints on the HDS5... bummer lol

Noooooooooooooo. I live 5 miles away and run over few times a year. Especially when I only a couple of hours on a Saturday morning and I know no events are going on over there. I will have to keep an eye on it when we run over to downtown EGR for dinner this summer.

Still 90% iced over. Docks in the middle of the ramp as of April 8th.
