sitting here working and hear a strange noise.  look out toward the boat launch and here are 2 guys in a bass boat breaking through the ice.  that is what i call dedication.  they get the award for the first boat on Union Lake this year..

Well, I've done that a few times, but to open water or to make a casting lane in protected water, but that time at Lake Ovid... I really thought the main lake was open. Really. Once I realized it was just ripples in the ice, I went back to the trailer telling the befuddled hunters on shore that I was just testing some repairs...

It was probably Tony Yancey and company.  He called me this weekend to get out, and i one suggestion was Union.  Unfortunatly, i was unable to attend.

All this great weather took care of the rest of the ice.  All the lakes look good and ready to me.  I stopped in at KD Outdoors today and was not surprised to find that the owner went out fishing this evening according to his lovely bride.  She said they went out to oxbow lake.  Never been on that lake myself.

Have you met Ken??  Dan.  I think his name is Ken.  I never have but I have heard his reports on Bob Bauer's Outdoor World on the radio on Saturday mornings.  I think you should get him to join the website so he can post them here??.....unless he already is a member and we don't know it.
