What should my TX director do about applying for Lakes?

My Tournament director does not know what to do about applying for permits.

As of right now... we do not know if all the proposed changes are finalized.

He called me yesterday to see if I could find out for him.

Should he send in permit requests for all of our lakes, or just the ones that are on the tentative list?

I was told from 4 different feild offices to just send them in either way if the lake needed a permit or not. I have a email from Jason Fleming with partial list i can forward to you.

djkimmel

Send in all the permit requests. The ones for lakes that aren't on the list of required permit lakes will still be put on a voluntary calendar as a courtesy hold.

Other clubs can review the calendar each month at the ramp or call the local office and check the calendar to see if someone is already going to be at the lake on a certain day.

Thanks,

That's what I told him to do. He called a field office and they told him what to do.

I received an email from Joe Fedewa that contained a press release from Jason Flemming on the procedures. I do not know Mr. Fedewa, but I can only guess that he read my post and sent me the email.

How important is it to notify the DNR of scheduled tournaments that do not require permits?

It is a courtesy between the holidays, but it will help everyone try to avoid conflicts.

If the MDNR local office knows about your event on a non-permit lake, they will let others know about it who call in for the same day on the same lake.
