I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

hey guys, how do you store all your tubes and grubs when you are going to fish out of a buddy's boat. bags or 3700's or 3730's? don't have a nice boat like most of the guys so any tips would be helpful..karol

A gallon zip-lock bag will hold more tubes than you can use in a day, and you can fit it into anywhere.  You'll hold way more than any box.

Hooksetter

I use a Plano box. I think it is a 3700 but I am not sure. It measures about 14 x 9 x 2. I have it divided into 12 compartments. Each compartment will hold about 12 3 1/2" or 4" tubes or grubs. I use a box because I don't like to mix colors and brands.

This lets me carry 4 or 5 colors, about 30 of each. I swap out colors, sizes, brands and quantities depending on where I am fishing.

thanks guys, makes the winter shorter, and, you don't have to wait for april. come down to indiana after ice-out and show me how to catch-em early :)..karol

I use a box like hooksetter does for most of them because I have found that some tubes will discolor other ones.  I had some Chartreuse tubes in a bag with white ones and they all ended up Chartreuse after a while.  But for the popular colors, I'll have several of the compartments filled with the same one or a bag of them in the boat too.  The Plano box just makes it easier to find the right one quick IMO.

I use a plano 3700 size box that has 2 levels to it - it is charcoal grey in color.  It holds enough tubes for quite some time as well as variety when the bite requires shopping fo rthe right color.  It also holds 5" as well as 4" with no problem.

Remember, don't store your tube jigs with the tubes, as the salt will rust the hooks out in short order.

I use 360 boxes by basspro, and some times just stuff a whole bunch into a plastic bag.

I would get a soft takle box with the 360 or 3600 boxes or one of those soft cloth bags that holds all your lures like a binder.
When in doubt, set the HOOK!!!

I use a 3700 size box in my soft sided tackle box.
I've never had a problem carrying enough sizes, or colors for a days outing.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Im a boater but I did fish a couple pro tournaments as a non boater so I went to bass pro shops and bought the soft tackle box made by browning, it holds 6 trays about 14x9 and I paid $69 for it I use one tray for hooks weights and jig heads one tray for tubes and I have about 8 clolors with about a dozen of each in it then I have a tray for plastic worms and again I have about 8 colors with about 20 of each then I have a tray mixed with spinner and buzz baits another with crank and jerk baits and another with a couple flukes jigs and small swim baits.
on the top of that soft box is a small soft box that zips onto it and I keep all my miscelanious plastics and an extra spool of line in it.

When meeting my partner in the morning I ask him if theres a storage box for me some will some wont if not the soft box is still small enough to keep between your feet.
If he does have a box for you it might not be big enough to fit the whole box in but you can take the trays out put them in the storage box and wad the soft box up and put it wherever your jakets would be stored.

Its hard for me to do but I always keep a completely empty box for my co angler becouse I like the floor clear so nothing gets in the nets way.
