Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

hey guys , a while back i had seen some grandt rods that were 7-6 long and they looked sweet for tubing and grub work, these were the spinning rods. do you think that a 7-6 medium casting rod would be too long for smaillies in a regular 14 ft boat. i'm thinking of selling my st.croix musky rods so i can get some falcon 7-6 in the casting and spinning rods.

the rods are a medium heavy but what does that mean  as far as stiffness? i have some of the extreme 5" tubes that are 3/16 head and when combined with 5'' tubes seem heavy, would medium hvy be ok for these? thanks guys ..karol- soon to be ex musky guy

Karol,
The length and action of the rods you use are all a personal choice in my opinion. Don't let the size of your boat handicap you in your length selection. If you can stand up in the boat you can use a 7-6 rod easily. I make all of my tournament partners crazy with the rods I use because I like a med or medium light action rod for all of my spinning applications. (PoorBoy hates it when I hang a nice smallie on tournament day with my 7foot medlight stcroix with 6lb line.) I am a light line fisherman so I need the forgiving action of those light rods. Your rod selection should be based on your style of fishing and the size line you are comfortable using. A med-heavy rod should have at the very least 8lb, but I would only throw 10 or above on it. The rods you are talking about should be more than adequate to handle the lures you are talking about providing your line is sized appropriately. Hope this helps
