This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

I'm considering trying one of these: Coupler Connect™ Hitch Aligner.

My aging back and uneven ground where I store the boat have me dinking around way to long when hitching up the boat.

Have any of you any experience with these?  Also, my trailer is one with a square tongue (Ranger Trail).  Do you think that this would still work?

They are listed at Cabelas for $39.  Seems like a small price to pay if they actually do work well.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

3 words:  Back up camera

Won't own a truck without one now.  Makes hooking up a cinch, even at wierd angles in hotel parking lots.

I'm with Seth - backup camera is the best thing ever. Saves marriages too!

Back up cameras are the cats arse for hitching up.  Works awesome in parking lots too.  When I back the truck into a space, it shows how much room I have between my back bumper and the car behind me.

I thought about the hitch aligner you're talking about, but debated about if I want the hitch "bumping" into it every time I hook up.

For several years I used a couple of old fiberglass bike flags with magnetic bases.  One on the hitch, one on the bumper.  Back up until you get the flags right next to each other.

BTW- those back up cameras are getting pretty cheap nowdays.  Many are wirless hook up too.  Just make sure to hide or remove the screen when you're not using it.  Thieves mistake them for GPS or DVD players.   >:(
