May 16 was a special day for me and Urey Middle School. This was the day of our annual tournament held on Koontz Lake for the Introduction to Bass Fishing Class I get to teach each spring.
We had a phenomenal day with great weather and fishing. More than 5 times more bass were weighed than in previous years. Many members of this board participated including: Mark Nelson, Bob Allen, and Phil Strakowski. Chip Harrison, among others, were also on hand to take a kid fishing.
Before the event began we handed each student a tackle pack to use for the day and each bag was valued over $75. Donations were given from various businesses, but also members from this board including: UV Tackle, Xtreme Bass Tackle, and Nemesis Baits.
A huge thank you to all who helped!

Huge thanks to Nemesis Baits pro staffer Phil Strakowski who gave up the chance to head up on our annual northern michigan smallmouth pilgrimage to fish with the kids. speaks volumes of his character.
McCarter himself :-\'
Always look forward to it. Happy to have been a part of it.
