??? wondering how bad was launching and trying to access Erie from the ramp toward the end of the season ?

The last time I went the buoys were pulled and on shore already. The water depth was really shallow. We had to idle way out. Much farther than normal.
We also picked a day where west winds wouldn't be a problem. With a west wind we wouldn't have gotten out.
I've heard of other guys that just looked at it, and didn't even launch a little later in the year.
I remember seeing that someone had to use a trolling motor for part of the way out.
It happens every year at the end of the season. It's all about which way the wind blows and how hard it's blowing. Not as bad in high water years. A lot worse in low water years like this one.
