Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

maybe you have all seen this by now but as reported by MLF, this will be the first time the format will include multiple lakes.....will be interesting to see how they pull it all together.   talked to a guy I know yesterday that works boat patrol for the Presque Isle County Sheriff and patrols Grand Lake, he is taking his kids over today to meet some of the guys, said it had been in the papers for a couple of days (Alpena, PI Advance as DK pointed out) so good they are promoting it a bit.  Overall he said the town seems excited to have them up there.

Yes, I think most of the 'secret' will be out other than maybe how wins which is fine. It is really fine that it is promoting Michigan bass fishing and bass tournaments more. We need to take more steps forward to solve some issues that have only hurt fishing in general in Michigan so I really appreciate all these events in Michigan!

Sounds like me on my last trip to Fletchers! ;D  Fishing relaxes me, but that place spike my blood pressure 100% with the constant worry of damage.

Where should I worry about prop damage on grand?

Quack

Hit Grand for the first time today.  If you have a LakeMaster chip and watch it closely you shouldn't have any issues.  I have Navionics on the front and it didn't show some of the danger zones that LakeMaster did, and I can confirm the LakeMaster chip was accurate.  There were definitely shallow rock piles but nothing that couldn't be seen on the LakeMaster map.  Good luck.

That's good to know. I have Lakemaster though it is an older one.

Just wait for a sunny day around noon, put on some polarized sunglasses  and dodge the brown spots thats all I can say. same goes for Long Lake- probly the lowest i've ever seen it. I was afraid to dock my boat- in the same Spot i've docked for over ten years

djkimmel

That makes it a little more challenging. If you have a tournament, you usually end up with wind and stirred up water as a welcome present, it usually seemed to me.

I know both lakes pretty well now but this is the best way to know for sure...

Lakemaster and Navionics do not show ALL the reefs and underwater humps...

Fished grand for the first time tonight  ;D report to follow.

Hey Ross, No email or pics sent my way???? How long were you at the St. Clair event. Are you going to be heading over to the All Star event in Muskegon?

I hope everyone will take some time to come over to Muskegon September 27-29! Make sure you say hi to me too! I missed a number of GreatLakesBass.com members at the Elite Series. It was a big area with lots going on!
