HDS Update from 2.5 to 3.5. Will it work?

I somehow missed the 3.0 update and I'm still in the stone age of 2.5. My question is, I bought a sonic hub and now need the 3.5 update. I down loaded the software to my sd card, put it in my HDS 5 and nothing....... It started up just like normal and did not recognize the update. Do I need to update to 3.0 before I update to 3.5? If so where can I get the 3.0 software update?

I didn't see anything that suggested you had to do them sequentially. Did you download and then run the install to put the uncompressed files on the SD card?

sound like you didn't dl the update on the card right, read the promps on the lowrance site and do it exactly as posted, on the HDS 5x theres a different way to install the update, not sure what unit you have

I figured it out, I'm an idiot. You have to click "RUN", not "SAVE". Once you do that, some stuff down loads and a window pops up, that is the install wizard. Click next a couple times then it ask you where you would like to put the information, which would be the SD card. Once that's done, you put it in your HDS and turn it on. That's it.... I made something sooooo easy, difficult, cause I don't read the instructions.

Exactly what I figured, that is a pretty common mistake. No one reads the instructions!
