Well the GY senko's are really getting to be outrages these days

Bass pro has them for 7.99 a bag and even [REMOVED - see No Links Policy List] is 7.49
They do catch fish

But I'm in search of a cheaper senko these days

So who fishes another brand? And do they work better then the GY's

Dan

I like Van Dam's Ochos by Strike King. Very supple, great action, and KVD really does use them. I know he's sponsored but, he does use them. Caught a lot of fish on them myself. Need to use the O-ring though. They are very soft.

Try the nemesis sicko

I have
They are soft
The color was just wrong for me. And they were more money then the GY
last year?

Duke

Komodo Dragon: hand-poured brand out of South Bend. impregnated scent. Soft, but more durable than Yamamoto.

$4.25 per 10

I like the Nemesis Sickos as well.  Softer...so they don't last for so long...but they do have a great action...even wacky rigged.  I guess it's a trade off...softer, good action...fish throw them off easily...but they are cheaper overall.  Do like the colors though.

LennyB

Yum Dinger and Wave Tiki sticks. 20 counts for $2.99 On-Line. A little trick to getting more life out of them is to buy a piece of 3/8 clear shrink tubing and cut it into 1/4 inch pieces. Slide it on and add a little heat with a propane torch to tighten it up. Hook the bait thru the heat shrink. Usually I get 1 or 2 fish out of a senko type bait but by rigging this way I can get anywhere from 4 to 10 fish on one bait. This also works with nose hooked or wacky rigged worms, you just need smaller diameter heat shrink.

That is a shame, I really can't believe they keep increasing these every year! I would have thought the ceiling was $6.99...

I may have found an alternative but need to be certain before I mention it...

I also like the Nemesis Sicko. They seem to last a lot longer than the senko. Senko's are one fish and done. I can usually get 2 or 3 fish out of a Sicko. Sicko's are also softer so the fish hold onto them longer. You should get ahold of Brian from Nemesis Baits, he can make u just about any color u want and might cut u a deal if you buy them in bulk.

fasttrack

Nemisis Sicko all the way. The last post hit the nail on the head. Brian has taken good care of me so give him a shout.

Nemesis sicko.  Color a problem?  Custom colors with no minimum, have the boys duplicate the color you want.  Or one you want that nobody makes.

Best soft stick?  Depends on the day.  Each is a little different in density, so different fall rates for each one.  Any could be the ticket that day in particular.

Day in/Day out, Nemesis & GYCB are the most consistent fish catchers for me.

And for those who might disagree, go stick a sticko in your ocho!

I agree...you should check them out!  I don't fish any other stick bait anymore.

When it comes to Senkos nothing beats the real thing.  Rumor is   There is a guy on Union Lake that tears them in half and uses a weighted hook.  Just another rumor.   ;D

I like the Nemesis sicko and is the best option in my opinion if you dont want to drop the extra coin on gycb. I find it hard to use anything other than the real thing though and stock up when tackle sites have 20% off so its under $6 a bag. I was told yamamoto uses a sand in there formula which is to expensive or difficult to pour and is why nobody else can duplicate. I have tried many knock offs and not one has the same wiggle or shimmy and some days that action will get you more bites. I still use the sickos alot but when its tough or money is on the line im throwing the real thing.
FISH HARD!!!

djkimmel

I use Xtreme Bass Tackle X-worms and Nemesis Sickos.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Another nod to the Nemesis Sicko.  Brian has made me several custom colors over the years (most of which are now offered on his website) and they WORK.  I don't fish a ton of stick baits these days, but there are those times when they just seem to be the ticket, and when that is the case I always throw the Sickos.
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

Manxfishing

It's interesting that so many people like the Nemesis Sicko.

But even buying the GY at 7.49 a bag for 10 or the Nemesis for 5.99 for 8
there the same price (.75 a piece)

I'm really after a cheaper Senko

jcox7

Guess I am not sure if I would ever worry about the cost of the bait, if I really thought one was better than the other.  I am sure that there are many less expensive ones available, however would the savings really be worth it?  To save 2 bucks a bag or .20 a bait seems like a lot but only matters if you are catching fish.  If a bait only catches one fish a piece and you catch your limit youre looking at what five bucks in bait.  On a good day tournament or not if you catch ten keeper bass you are or should be happy.  With this then you would spend roughly what ten bucks??  I wish I could feel confident I would spend ten bucks durring every tournament or day out fishing on plastic worms.  Why skimp on the price if it is the worm that works.  I only fish GY I have some Sickos that were made personaly for me however I catch the most on GY so I fish GY I would not worry about price when you are talking about saving a couple bucks a trip and that is if the trip is a good one.
