Hello fellow anglers:
I'm contacting you because it is desperation time for our Saturday July 26 Lake Orion Fish-n-Friends day for the Crossroads for Youth fishing day. We have only 5 or 6 boats in so far and need at least 16 boats to take the minimum number of kids fishing. The kids have earned the privilege of going out with us fishing for the day and are looking forward to it (and have been for months).

At this point, we'll have to tell most the kids we can't get them out on the lake for the 4 hours of fishing. I can't even imagine the disappointment most of the kids will have.

These are not kids that will wreck your boat or anything. We've had nothing but great success every year. The kids end up just being kids, enjoying a chance to fish out of boats with caring adult anglers who give them something they probably have not gotten enough in their lives before.

I realize we are all busy and gas prices are killing us, but we do get to enjoy what we love much more than these kids. A few of them have never been fishing before. Some of them have little in their short lives they can look back on as they will this day of fishing... if we can get them out.

We really need your help, and the help of any other boaters you may know. Ideally, we'd like about 22 boats and two or three pontoons. You don't have to have a fancy bass boat to help out. The kids just want to go fishing. Believe me, they really want to go. I'll add that almost every boater who has ever helped us out has told me it was a special day they'll never remember and want to do again. There's many things you can do with your day, but few will have the impact on your life as this one.

Please, help us out. Please. We need boaters at the Lake Orion DNR ramp between 6:15 and 6:30 AM to make sure we get parking.
Thanks,
Dan Kimmel & Anthony Adams

I've posted it at least 2 other times. It's been on the calendar for several months from an old event posting and then a newer one. I had it on the news flash at the top of the forum when your first come in for about 2 months. I talked to many  of the guys since this spring and had it posted several ways including for a while in the new youth fishing boards so I did not send out individual email until recently when a number of our normal help switched to maybe's or no (I count the maybe's as a no... I need commitment - guess I've been working with women for too long).

Thanks for coming through for us (and really for the kids) Dan. You'll have a shot at the Garmin NUVI!
