Is anyone running a point one antenna is it worth the $200 , and will it work with gen 1 units
I don't mind spending the money if it is worth it and I have not seen much in the way on any web site to get a solid feeling about them
Any help would be great

Mini

I do not but I have heard some good things about them.

Also heard some bad things about them.

In most bass boat situations popular thought was to place the antenna as close to the transducer to get the most accurate placing of waypoints on things you see on the screen. That worked well until the point1 came out and people were placing them on the bow for the bow GPS (or for the networked antenna).

The trolling motor when it is in the water does not effect the antenna, but when it is laying on the deck it drastically changes the antenna internal compass......therefore rendering it useless.

IMHO I think the point1 antenna is for some that do not have the natural ability to know where north, south, east and west are when looking at their screen..... ;D

But then again I didnt think one needed a color sonar unit either.
